This test looks for malaria parasites in a stained blood smear. It is requested when a person has fever, chills or other symptoms that could be due to malaria, especially during or after the monsoon season or after travel to an affected area.
આ ટેસ્ટ શા માટે કરવામાં આવે છે
- To check whether fever is due to malaria.
- To identify the type of malaria parasite when present.
- To follow the response to treatment, when advised by the doctor.
તૈયારી
No fasting is needed. If possible, give the sample before starting anti-malarial medicines, and tell us if you have already taken any.
